My top 5 cruelty-free products for glowy, radiant skin

Weekend life: Salon Bio & Co

organic haul

Last Saturday, on a very wet and chilly morning, we headed to Metz to visit the organic fair Salon Bio & Co. We regularly shop at organic stores when possible, but this was my first visit to an organic fair in a very long time. What really surprised me was the abundance of Vegan or Vegan-friendly booths: Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, Association Végétarienne de France, Rassemblement pour une France sans Chasse (RAC) just to mention a few. There were lots of ateliers and conferences, cooking demonstrations, and even a delicious 100% Vegan food corner held by Cuit Lu Cru (with Vegan and gluten-free wraps and burgers, and the most delicious...

Rich and creamy Vegan coffee ice cream

creamy and rich Vegan coffee ice cream

One thing that you’ll find out once you go Vegan, is that you will want to experiment with food much more than before, most people agree on this. Your taste buds get “detoxed”, you become curious in the kitchen and you’ll try ingredients you’ve never tried before. In this sense, a Vegan diet is much more varied than a “standard” one. I could give you hundreds of examples, but I’ve never thought I’d make my own version of a Vegan cream cheese (super easy, too, stay tuned for the recipe soon) or my own Vegan ice cream at home. And yet here I am, happily churning away to my...

5 ways to welcome Spring

5 ways to welcome Spring

5 Ways to Welcome Spring How did you celebrate the arrival of Spring? We spent the night over in a cabin in the mountains, and woke up at 6am with the sound of birds chanting to the day. We witnessed an amazing sunset (photos coming soon on Photo.feub.net) and then sat quietly while the sun came up, feeling at peace. For years I’ve only really appreciated and celebrated the arrival of Autumn, but now I think the best way to step into Springtime is to actually acknowledge that Nature around us is changing, waking up and therefore our bodies, too, are undergoing some type of transformation. This is why I...

Welcome Spring smoothie

Welcome Spring smoothie

Welcome Spring smoothie It’s in honor of the days that get longer and the sweet vision of flowers blooming that I’ve made this healthy and delicious Welcome Spring smoothie. I just love its color! As I’m writing this, it’s not Springtime yet: we’ve just had 4 or 5 days of non-stop snow. Rooftops are still covered in morning frost, and most fields are still under a white coat, but you can feel Spring approaching, in some particular moments, when the wind carries the scent of distant flowers and the sun rays caress your hair in the delicate light of the early mornings. And especially because I’ve finally had such a...

10 free fonts for bloggers & creatives

Today I want to share with you something a little different: 10 free fonts for bloggers & creatives. I love fonts and I think they require an amazing amount of work. Hats off to all font-makers out there! I am no stranger to buying fonts, and my favorite website to find commercial fonts is Creative Market *, but all my admiration goes to font creators that give share their fonts for free, for personal as well as commercial use. These are some of the latest free fonts I found that are not famous yet and that will bring your next project to a whole new level. Enjoy! The ones above...

Valentine’s Day Vegan recipes roundup ♥

Valentine’s Day Vegan recipes roundup ♥

So Valentine’s day is just around the corner. Love it? Hate it? I so want to hate it (and I do dislike the commercial/cheesy side of it) but I always end up preparing at least one special dish, usually a dessert, not because it’s a special day (when you’re in love, everyday is a special day) but because cooking is a way to express my love (again those Italian roots, you know?). Whether you love it, hate it, loathe it, if you love vegan foods, and you want to spoil someone (your other half, your best friend, yourself?) I’m sure you’ll find one good reason to spread some Vegan love...

January favorites: winter survival edition

January favorites

So, January’s over. Wait, what? Weren’t we all in the xmas mood just a couple of weeks ago? Apparently not and I’d better get started on all those new year’s resolutions (like this one for example) or it will be waaaay too late. Anyway, how’s the weather where you live? I’m finally having a winter like those I’ve always wanted with freezing days and snowfalls. If you want to see what a typical day having fun outdoors looks like here, head on over to this photo my husband: Lispach Lupus. So this past month’s favorites are all about surviving the cold frigid temperatures with nonchalance. First up, Salcura bio skincare...

Vanilla custard pots

vegan custard

Custard is one of the most famous desserts of the world, and it can be easily declined in many flavors: classic lemon, sweet vanilla, naughty chocolate, sophisticated green tea and so on. The majority of people still thinks you need eggs and dairy products to achieve that perfect luscious texture, but this couldn’t be farther from the truth! Just like you don’t need eggs to make a perfectly fluffy cake (ladies and gentlemen, proof 1 & 2) you don’t really need any animal-derived ingredients to cook just about anything, in this case you only need to take advantage of what ingredients such as cornstarch can make for you in order...

2015 in review

2015 in review

2016 is almost here! I wanted to take a quick moment to share some of my personal highlights of 2015, and I invite you to do the same. More than hastily making new year’s resolutions, it’s important to stop for a moment and take a glance at what you’ve achieved or what you’ve overcome during the past year. Only then we can make plans for an even better year to come, don’t you think? So here’s my 2015 in review Opened SevenRoses for business When in 2014 I quit my job to relocate far, far away from home and work as a freelance, I thought I would only work as...
