The Top Vegan Thanksgiving recipes to prove you how amazing it is to celebrate Thanksgiving in a cruelty-free, compassionate way, still eating loads of delicious foods.
Hello my beautiful friends! Lately I’ve received many requests for Vegan, cruelty-free Thanksgiving recipes….
So here’s my roundup of the top Vegan recipes to celebrate Thanksgiving in a meaningful, thankful, cruelty-free way without meat, dairy, eggs nor Animal sufferance on our plates.
Vegan Holiday roast – cheap, succulent and festive! by yours, truly.
This would be perfect for your Thanksgiving, Christmas or even New Year’s Eve table.
A succulent Vegan Holiday Roast that will please Vegan and meat-lovers just the same, and that really embodies the traditional meals. I know, nothing says “Holiday table” like a roasted, consistent dish that you can slice up and serve with your favorite gravy surrounded by yummy potatoes and vegetables.
The number one recipe that I want to share with you is not a recipe but a whole e-book (!!!) by Mr. & Mrs. Vegan that you can download for free here: http://www.thanksliving.com. I love the idea of creating new traditions, Thanksgiving -> Thanksliving, get it? Too many times family members feel rejected when one or more Vegan members of the family refuse certain “festive” foods and as a consequence their whole lifestyle. But new traditions can be created, recipes can be adapted, and we should totally involve non-Vegan friends & family and show them how great it is to celebrate in a cruelty-free, compassionate way, still eating loads of delicious foods. Once again, when you go Vegan the only thing you give up is cruelty towards Animals.
These are perfect Autumnal comfort foods. I love to make them in small personal-sized cocottes that my mom gave me. There’s some variations to this game, so you might want to check all of them out and then, of course, mix the ideas to create your own recipe!

I will not even mention fluffy mashed potatoes, because that’s a given at Thanksgiving, n’est-ce pas? But for a more grown-up side dish I advice you to go for a hearty roasted vegetable. Brussels sprouts have only really been on my radar since when my husband (then fiancé) told me he loved them…. (really? Someone can actually love Brussels sprouts? ;D) I now find them a very tasty addition (in moderation) to many of our meals, Buddha bowls and roasted casseroles. As they are very flavorful they only need a couple more herbs or condiments to become a refined dish, like in The Vegan Road’s Caramelized Brussels Sprouts or in One Green Planet’s recipe pictured below (if you really don’t care for the little green sprouts, try Roasted Carrots or Roasted green beans instead!).
I admit that when I’m preparing lots of different recipes and dishes, I like to rely on one or two that are not complicated, that I can make almost with my eyes closed. I’ve adapted this super easy recipe from Mary’s Test Kitchen in an infinite number of ways and it’s always a success.
Finally, in my imaginary Vegan Thanksgiving menu, my dessert would not require me to do any extra work while having the meal itself, that means, no checking the oven, no whipping last minute things… I assume the oven would have been in use with the pot pies, or the meatless loaf, or the roasted veggies, so instead of consuming even more power, I would go for something fresh and no-bake, that I could prepare in advance and just take out of the fridge at the right moment. Too daring and unconventional? I don’t think so :) Check out these yummy pies and then we’ll talk again:

– Vegan Peanut Butter Mousse Pie by Vegan Family Recipes
