I made my basil green smoothie in a Vitamix, but the personal-sized Ninja blades are also sufficient for getting you the smooth, creamy texture you want. On a particularly hot day, try adding some ice cubes to make the texture more like a slush. Again, it’s all about pulverizing and liquefying rather than chopping.

Basil, lemon and ginger green smoothie
- 1 frozen bananas
- 1 cup kale frozen or fresh
- 1 piece of ginger (size of garlic clove)
- 6 basil leaves medium-sized
- 2 cups water
- ¼ lemon zest
- Add all ingredients to your blender and press start.
- Blend for about 45 seconds to 90 seconds until all the greens are completely pulverized and liquefied.
- Pour into your favorite glass or enjoy directly from blender cup.
